COLORED M&M's
Near the height of the Bronze Age, three different civilizations built up around the area we know as Greece. These civilizations are called Cycladic, Minoan, Mycenaean. This theme helps us to remember their names.
Historical Context
The Aegean civilizations were heavily influenced by the other at styles found earlier. There is evidence of them using a cannon of proportions similar to that of Egypt. The evidence of these previous civilizations is strong, with ruins of palaces, palatial villas, houses, and fortifications all surounding their respective areas. Their is also evidence of public works such as paved roadways, bridges, and systems of drainage.
Ancient Aegean art can be described as abstract and full of color. Compared to most other works of art before them, they favored bright dyes and abstraction of the detail found in other works of art. Such as the figures found near their grave sites, lack many features of normal humans.
