This artwork shows many nude women surrounding cupid, keeping him captive. The painting was done with several other mythological paintings by the same artist, Boucher. Its subject was not uncommon for the Rococo style, as the french did many portrayals of the classical mythical characters. The painting shows very easily the bright colors and cheerful mood of Rococo. Also this painting shows the rather common subject matter of sensuous material.
