General Information:
Persepolis was the ceremonial capital of the Persian Empire. It was a gigantic palace, full of many examples of the artwork of the time. It was used for many rituals as well as the housing of the throne. The building was also used for the entertainment of many of the visiting people form other countries at the time. The palace was eventually burnt down by invading armies.

This artwork was chosen because of its sheer importance in Persian history. It housed many important people in history, as well as was an example of a major architectural achievement early in history, a groundbreaking advance in architecture.
